HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!!
While three nations are carrying out what they all couch in religious as well as political terms, I thought I’d leave all that to the side and offer you this greeting in its deepest meaning, a wish for a peaceful, loving and happy family day.
It doesn’t matter if you are an adherent of any religion or none, atheist, agnostic or theist, or whether you like chocolate eggs and bunnies or not. This is a day in which a man who gave his life for the love of humanity is celebrated. Focus on that. The world can seem a horrible mess at times, but in my experience having travelled all over the planet, I believe the vast majority of people everywhere only wish for tomorrow to be much like today, and that today should be pleasant and unsurprising, so that it can be dedicated to love and fulfilling their responsibilities for their loved ones.
I’ll get back to thinking about that awful minority who thrive on hate and call for blood, but not today.
Thank you for being a reader of my articles here. I hope you enjoy them, are moved to reconsider some things and endorse others. To usurp a lovely line I heard recently: “My name is Rory and I do my best”.

Thank you - a lovely reminder of all the good in the world. We are about to see our son , daughter in law and two little grandsons who have made a mad dash back to Australia as their lives in Bahrain have been so disrupted , along with millions of others , by this madness .
A very happy Easter from Athens! Over here it is actually celebrated next Sunday - because of this strange calendar gap between the two churches, the Catholic and the Orthodox. But no matter when, hope needs all the celebrations it can have. Blessings to all!
